April 30 (UPI) -- American Idol alums reunited connected nan show Monday to grant precocious vocalist Mandisa.
Colton Dixon (Season 11), Danny Gokey (Season 8) and Melinda Doolitle (Season 6) performed a tribute to Mandisa (Season 5), who died April 18 astatine property 47.
The trio sang nan Mary Mary opus "Shackles (Praise You)" while wearing all-white outfits.
Following nan performance, Doolittle recalled her longtime relationship pinch Mandisa.
"I'd known her for complete 20 years," Doolittle said. "We started disconnected singing inheritance and sessions together and past she sewage connected Idol and I shouted for her. Then I came nan adjacent season, and she shouted for me. So that is my woman done and through."
Gokey remembered Mandisa arsenic "a instrumentality of people" who was "a cheerleader for different people's music."
"She had nan biggest sound for me," he added.
Dixon remarked connected really he thinks "Shackles (Praise You)" sums up Mandisa's life.
"I deliberation she came successful praising, I deliberation she near praising," he said. "We're going to miss her, but our nonaccomplishment is heaven's gain."
Mandisa's friends and family honored nan precocious vocalist astatine a ceremony of life ceremonial Saturday successful Brentwood, Tenn.
"She brought specified joyousness to our family, to our lives that we're conscionable going to miss her each day," her father, John Hundley, told News 2.
Mandisa's origin of decease has yet to beryllium confirmed.
